Dr. Robert ‘Bo’ Bergloff
DVM
Dr. Bo grew up in Bradenton, FL, where he attended Manatee High School. After graduating in 1988, he wanted to attend Auburn, but a budget and divine intervention caused a detour to Troy University in Alabama. He graduated with a B.S. and a fiancée in 1992. The following year, he and April were married. He also became an Auburn University Tiger, attending their esteemed veterinary college and carrying on a Bergloff family tradition.
He achieved his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1997 and worked as an associate veterinarian in Atmore, AL, and Bay Minette, AL. In 2007, he and April moved their growing family to the Panama City area to pursue practice ownership and raise their three children, Henley, Daughtry, and Addie Ross. The daily Bergloff activities are supervised by Lucy the Golden Retriever and critiqued by a sizeable horde of felines.
Dr. Amber Mayes
DVM
Dr. Mayes returned to North Bay Animal Hospital in March 2021. As a 2010 graduate of Oklahoma State University College of Veterinary Medicine, she has provided much-needed relief services for veterinarians in Bay County, OK City, and Montgomery, AL. Her husband’s U.S. Air Force career has facilitated those moves around the country as they added two precocious boys to their family. During their prior stop at Tyndal Airforce Base, Dr. Mayes filled in for Dr. Bo when he scheduled some well-earned time off. She enjoys craft projects, books (reading & listening), and catching up on her favorite TV shows when life allows. Currently, without any household pets of their own, she pours all her love and attention into our patients with the help of our capable team. One day, she’d like to take some time to tour Europe. For now, she shares her time with us part-time, and we’re grateful to have her!
Dr. Caitlyn Franklin
DVM
Dr. Franklin is a LOCAL, a Bay County native. She ventured out of our area for veterinary college at Auburn, but once she successfully earned her DVM, she returned home. After trying a couple of clinics on for size, even as far afield as Crawfordville, FL, we’re glad to say she found her home at North Bay Animal Hospital in January 2022. She has settled in with her husband Erik and her O.C. (original crew), Costa (Red Heeler), and his quartet of feline “siblings” Sealee, Goose, Maverick, and Gina. At one time, her home may have rivaled the 2006 film Snakes On A Plane as they had 11 snakes bunking in with them! She’s expanded her crew to include 11 chickens and one day hopes to bridge into poultry medicine.
Renee Wilson
Lead Technician
Renee brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience. In the last 20 years, she has worked as a veterinary technician in all facets of general practice and even has some specialty experience in cardiology. She is passionate about pain management and heart health. If vet med hadn’t pulled her in, she may have followed a path into forensic science. She and her husband, Art, have a son, Elijah, and a daughter, Kaleigh. On the furry side of life, she cares for a herd of pets: Mugsley, Lola, and Tanner make up the “dog team” while Toothless and Hiccup make up the cat team. You might find her at many a car show, showing and sharing her award-winning violet beast. The balance she sees in our team reminds her more of family than coworkers. We’re fortunate to have her skills and leadership contributing to our team harmony!
Mayson Causby
Veterinary Technician
Mayson joined our team in August of 2020 after moving from Georgia. She came to us with 3 years of experience and we are excited to have helped her grow and hone her skills. She aims to continue her professional growth to one day include a specialty in either dentistry or pathology. She shares her home life with two doggos, Bowser and Maelie, kitties Me-mow and Calcifurr (new addition,) and Gertrude the Golden Frog. As a self-professed cinephile, you’ll catch her enjoying movies in her downtime. She enjoys the tight-knit group our team is creating, knowing they all help make the day easier.
Lecia Hicks
Veterinary Technician
Lecia is an enthusiastic newcomer to veterinary medicine! Entering with a baptism by fire, she started finding her “tech legs” at an emergency clinic. She joined North Bay in January 2024 and continues her learning adventure in our exam rooms helping our patients achieve and maintain optimal health. During her off time, you might catch her outdoors hanging around with her 2 dogs, Vader and Kylo. She enjoys riding the North Bay rollercoaster knowing that, even when facing a challenging case, her team has the skills and ability to see each other through the highs and lows to the best possible outcomes.
Kim Page
Receptionist
Kim (aka Kimstin) first wet her feet in the veterinary world working at the Animal Care Center in Panama City Beach before joining our North Bay family in October 2019. She has lived in Panama City since 1995, moving from Virginia. She is the proud mom to two young people, a son currently adulting on his own for the first time back in Virginia, and a daughter working on finding her path in life. The furry members of her little family include canines Rocco (aka Fatty) and Neecy (aka Nee-Bear), and felines Cujo the domesticated menace and Da Willow, terrorizer of towels. Her most favorite thing to do when she has downtime is nothing, but she does enjoy tattoos, spending time with friends, and mowing the pastures (and mowing…and mowing…). She thinks of our team as having “Put the fun in dysfunctional”. If that’s true, she is leading the charge as our front office manager and we wouldn’t have it any other way!
Bek Anderson
Receptionist
Bek joined us in March of 2023 with 10 years of previous veterinary experience. Originally from Tampa, her family eventually moved to Coonbottom (Yes! It’s a real place!). Looking for a change, her husband Bek and their two kiddos moved to Panama City in January 2023. Her interests include sleep, food, and lounging with her kiddos. She currently lives in Panama City with her spouse Craig, 2 kids-Hazel and Miley. 3 dogs, 1 cat, and 3 bearded dragons! Welcome to the team Bek-we’re so happy to have you. She works towards living a life free from daily struggles and to genuinely experience happiness. Cheering her along is a veritable pack of dogs (Pearl, Ozzeranski, Quesadilla, Stinkalicious, and IT), backed up by a trio of bearded dragons. And she has the full support of her North Bay Family!
Katrina Kepran
Manager
Katrina aspired to join the animal health industry since her youth. While staying home with her two children during their preschool years, she undertook a challenging educational program to help her achieve this goal. She completed her Animal Behavioral College internship with North Bay Animal Hospital in Spring 2013 and happily became an official part of the North Bay family in January 2014.
Stevie
Ceremonial Figurehead
Stevie first came to North Bay Animal Hospital as a charity case donated over the fence into the backyard of a staff member at the tender estimated age of 6-ish months. The obvious deficiencies in her eyesight inspired the staff to name her Stevie… as in Wonder. The original intention was to find her a home of her own, but once the extent of her defective vision was realized, her North Bay family became so selective about her placement that she ended up staying at the clinic. Like Lucy, food is a major motivator for Stevie because you would never expect a blind cat to be able to run full tilt from the front office, down the hallway, around two corners, and into her kennel without running into one wall (only feeding time). Prior to Hurricane Michael, she had a bit of a health scare; her chest X-rays showed possible lung lesions, and she began having issues with appetite and weight loss.
When Hurricane Michael walloped Bay County, her North Bay family was very concerned for her well-being. With no electricity at the clinic, she claimed refugee status in the office manager’s house and staged an amazing come-back. To this day she still travels to and from the office with the manager, and she shares her space with a family of humans. She only puts up with the two canines living with her in the refugee camp because they were there first, and the silly humans seem to like them.
